What the app is
A parental safety app. A parent installs it on their own phone and on their child's phone. The parent must be the child's parent or legal guardian. The child's screen always shows what the parent can see.
What we collect, and why
- Parent sign-in. Your Apple ID "Sign in with Apple" ID, your name, and your email (or Apple's relay email). Used to log you in and send alerts about your kids.
- Kid's first name. Typed by the parent. Used to label alerts.
- Kid's phone location. Only from the kid's phone, only after the kid taps Allow. Sent when the phone moves a meaningful distance and when the help button is tapped. Shown to the kid's parents.
- Check-ins. The mood the kid picks and any note they type. Shown to the kid's parents.
- Help button taps. The time and location. Sent to the kid's parents right away.
- Push tokens and app version. So alerts can reach the right phone and we can fix bugs.
- Web filter settings and app rules (when those features are on). The rules only. Screen Time usage numbers never leave the child's phone. Apple does not allow it, and we do not try.
What we do NOT collect
- No texts, photos, contacts, browsing history, or app usage from this app.
- No ads, no ad tracking, no selling or renting data. Ever.
Where it lives
On Cloudflare's servers in the United States, encrypted in transit. Only the parents linked to a kid can see that kid's data. We keep location points for 90 days and alerts and check-ins for one year, then delete them.
Who we share with
Only the services that make the app work: Apple (sign-in and push notifications) and Cloudflare (hosting). No one else, unless the law requires it.
Kids' privacy
This app is set up by a parent for their own child. The parent gives consent for the child's data. Parents can delete a kid, and all of that kid's data, from the Kids screen or by emailing us.
Your choices
- Parents: delete your account and all your family's data any time from Settings, or email us.
- Kids: location sharing can be turned off in iPhone Settings. The app tells the parent it is off, and never pretends it is on.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will tell you before it takes effect.
